Oscars 2026: Neeraj Ghaywan's Homebound Shortlisted in The Best International Feature Film Category_我的网站

一 |     Team Homebound is a step closer to turning its Oscar dream into a reality. The Neeraj Ghaywan directorial has been shortlisted for the Academy Awards 2026 in the Best International Feature Film category, placing it among 15 selected from submissions by 86 countries.     With this announcement, Homebound has cleared a crucial stage in the Oscar race, and the next step is the nomination round. Academy members are required to watch all 15 films before proceeding to vote for the final five nominees. Some other films that have been shortlisted are Palestine 36 from Palestine, The Voice of Hind Rajab from Tunisia, No Other Choice from South Korea and The Secret Agent from Brazil.     Producer Karan Johar took to social media to express his gratitude and wrote, "I am not sure I can articulate how proud, elated and over the moon I am with the journey of #HOMEBOUND… all of us @dharmamovies are privileged to have this proud and important film in our filmography … thank you @neeraj.ghaywan for making so many dreams of ours come true… from Cannes to being on the Oscar shortlist this has been such an overwhelming journey! In the video, the artist can be seen twirling a fire staff lit on both ends.,However, as the performer brought one of the lit ends of the staff towards his face in an apparent attempt to perform a fire-eating act, he accidentally ended up setting his own hair and attire on fire.,Members of the audience and onlookers immediately rushed to aid the artist and managed to quickly extinguish the fire, but not before the unfortunate man sustained severe burns.,As local authorities told the media, the artist was rushed to an emergency care hospital where he remains in serious, but stable condition.,While the exact cause of the incident remains unclear, some local media outlets speculated that it may have had something to do with the poor quality of kerosene being used by the artist during his performance.。
